Know what breaks before you deactivate a plugin — and get lost data back.
You want to remove a plugin or switch themes, but you do not know which pages use it. Or you switched themes and your Services, Team or Testimonials vanished from the admin. NMR HTML Blocks shows you which plugins your pages depend on, warns you before you deactivate one that live content uses, and brings back the posts of removed custom post types so you can review, export or delete them.
Free. No coding required. Install, activate, and open NMR HTML Blocks in the WordPress admin menu. It only reads your content and never changes it.

What you get
🔍 Plugin impact
Scans your live pages and posts for shortcodes and dynamic blocks, finds which plugin or theme provides each one, and shows which posts would break if you removed it. Shortcodes that nothing registers right now are listed separately, together with the installed (even inactive) plugin that defines them.
⚠️ Warning before you deactivate
On the Plugins screen, deactivating a plugin that live content uses asks you to confirm first. The message names the pages that would break. Turn the warning off in the settings if you do not want it.
📦 Orphan post types
When a theme or plugin that registered a custom post type is removed, its posts stay in the database but disappear from the admin. NMR HTML Blocks detects those post types and shows them again, for the admin only: no public URLs, no archives, not in search, not in REST.
📋 Shortcode inventory
For each orphan post type you see which shortcodes its posts contain (for example [vc_row] or [trx_team]), how often, and in how many posts. Detection only, nothing is changed.
🧪 Demo content detection
Shows how many posts of each type contain “lorem ipsum” style text and warns when a type looks like leftover theme demo content. It is a guess from the text only, and nothing is deleted.
📤 Export to CSV or JSON
Export one post type as CSV (one row per post) or JSON (with content and custom fields), so you keep a copy before you delete anything.
🔒 Safe by design
Administrators only. Classic editor for recovered posts, so old page builder shortcodes are not wrapped in blocks on save. The plugin never changes data by itself and does not contact any server.
🧰 A temporary tool
Use it, then deactivate it. When you delete the plugin, its own settings and cached scans are removed. Your posts are never touched.

A warning at the moment it matters

How it works
- Install and activate. Open NMR HTML Blocks in the admin menu.
- See what depends on what. The Plugin impact tab lists every plugin and theme your content relies on.
- Recover lost content. The Orphan post types tab lists posts of removed post types. Review, edit, export or delete them.
- Deactivate with confidence. You know which pages a plugin affects before you switch it off.
Want to fix the pages, not only find them?
The free plugin is fully functional on its own. The optional NMR HTML Blocks Pro add-on goes further: it converts the pages that use a plugin’s shortcodes into plain WordPress blocks with a Before / After review and one-click undo, previews any page as if a plugin were off, and retires leftover demo pages with redirects.
Requirements
- WordPress 5.9 or higher
- PHP 8.0 or higher
Frequently asked questions
Does it change my content?
No. The free plugin only reads your content. Posts are only changed or deleted if you edit or delete them yourself from the recovered post type screens.
Will the posts of the old post type show on my site?
No. Recovered post types are admin only: no public URLs, no archives, not in search and not in REST.
Why is a post type not listed?
Names longer than 20 characters cannot be registered by WordPress. They are shown in the overview but have no menu.
Will the fields of the old theme show up?
Only as raw custom fields (enable “Custom Fields” in Screen Options). Nothing renders them in a layout.
Does it contact any server?
No. Everything runs on your site. The only external thing is a link to this page for the Pro add-on.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plugin is complete on its own. Pro is an optional paid add-on.
